Sally Sithole dresses for success
Playing dress-up when she was a child, led Sally Sithole into being the fashionista she is.
POLOKWANE – The 19-year-old model, media student, philanthropist and radio presenter says her love for fashion comes from wearing her mother’s jewellery, lipstick and shoes as well as prancing in front of the mirror.
“I believe that women have more potential than men to look good because the clothes we wear, have a pretty big impact on them,” she said. Sally is a firm believer that one’s uniqueness and positive energy inspires confidence in others.
As a philanthropist, she seeks to promote the welfare of others and make a difference.
She told BONUS that her fashion sense derives from people she has encountered, TV programmes and magazines, but more importantly, she was inspired by herself.
“I love colour-coordinating my outfits because I want to be presentable and stylish. Colourful clothes look cute but one should know how to mix and match colour-blocking items,” she said.
Sally usually attends functions as a master of ceremonies and loves wearing neutral-coloured dresses, adding a pop of colour with her heels.
“I love wearing heels, especially ones with loud colours, especially if I am wearing a monotone dress or outfit. High heels make me look taller and not only does this provide confidence in itself, but it also creates an illusion that improves the way your legs look,” she added.
She prefers diamonds when she hosts an event because she feels it makes you feel more powerful and boosts your confidence.
“I sometimes wear symbolic jewellery such as my church-cross-earrings, which is a great way to make myself feel more confident. Simply wearing something such as jewellery, especially that a loved one has given you, can be enough to make you feel more positive about yourself.
“It is amazing what the right set of clothes, shoes and jewellery can do for a woman, and the same can be said for men,” she added.
