The annual Capricorn High School (Cappies) Valedictory Parade had the audience asking for more after great performances by learners and the Police brass band at the school’s sport fields on Saturday.
The parade, a time honoured tradition at the school, serves to bid farewell to the Grade 12s and wish them luck ahead of their final examinations while also remembering the school’s fallen alumni. Following numerous routines performed on the pitch, the 2018 leaders handed over the school colours to the new leaders.
When addressing the audience and learners, the school governing body chairperson Fulufhelani Tsedu said the class of 2018 had worked hard to be where they are and that he was confident that they shall live up to the school’s slogan, ‘Who dares wins’. He further urged them to continue being the ambassador of the school at various institutions of higher learning next year to make the school, parents and themselves proud.
Tsedu applauded the parents for their continued support and added that this would ensure that the Cappies produces best results at the end of the year.
The ceremony ended with joyful singing, dancing and the customary flinging of the Class of 2018 bashers into the air.
