Last Wednesday was not school as usual at Squirrel’s Nest when Grade 000 to 0 learners celebrated Mitchell House’s 25th anniversary with a fun day.
The event was also the culmination of the quarter’s theme, being ‘Water’ and the toddlers brought their swimming attire along to allow for participation in all the water-related activities that included walking the plank, gliding down the water slide, building sand castles and having fun in an inflatable swimming pool.
Educator Jess Dale assisted the learners to make mini aquariums with biscuits and blue water icing, covered with silver bubbles. “They enjoyed the day and the greatest challenge was to rotate all the groups through the different scenes, allowing all to participate within the given time slots,” she said.
