The drum majorettes of Pietersburg Comprehensive School (PCS) emerged as the overall winners of the Limpopo Majorette and Cheerleading Association’s provincial competition that was hosted by Jabez Christian Academy at Hoër Tegniese Skool Tom Naudé last Saturday.
The teams of PCS and Jabez Christian Academy competed against teams from 10 other schools in Limpopo, including a group from Waterberg. The Jabez team took the third place in the Throwing Props and Flag Groups and ended second in the Non-prop category, while they came third in the Small Drill Subleaders category.
Jabez Christian Academy Principal, Elana Erasmus said that it was an honour to host the event. “Our learners perform better every year and we are looking forward to next year’s competition. We were also surprised by the number of visitors from as far as Lephalale and elsewhere in Waterberg which supported our teams,” Erasmus said.
