Bethal CPF awards schools for donating blood
Laerskool Marietjie van Niekerk wins challenge.
The schools and nursery schools that took part in the Bethal community policing forum (CPF)’s blood challenge held in January this year were finally awarded.
The CPF invited schools and nursery schools to challenge each other and see which school could donate the most blood from January 19 to 31.
The schools and community collected a total of 452 units of blood. Laerskool Marietjie van Niekerk was the winning school and received a R10 000 cash prize.
Laerskool HM Swart finished second and received a R6 000 cash prize, while Wonderland Kleuterskool finished third and received a R4 000 cash prize.
Jaap Pretorius, chairman of Bethal CPF and Juanita Smith of the South African Blood Services (SANBS)’ branch in Bethal, handed over the cheques to the three schools last week.
