Local retail shop robbed
A retail shop in Standerton was robbed of plasma televisions.
STANDERTON – In the silly season tradition, companies stock Christmas gifts.
The Lewis store in Standerton was a target of robbers early Wednesday morning.
They apparently used some sort of a cable, attached to a vehicle, and pulled the security bars out with it.
The thieves broke the window to gain access to the shop. The security company, ETC, called the manager, Ms Stella Thanjekwayo, at 3am.
Kasselman Security Services was quick on the scene.
According to Ms Thanjekwayo, plasma televisions are missing, but stock-take will determine if more goods were stolen.
A burglary was performed with the same modus operandi last year.
A case of theft was opened and the forensic team dusted for fingerprints.
There was blood on the scene and samples were taken to help the police with the investigation.
No arrest were made.
