Parkrunners take on Standerton’s 367th event
A total of 101 runners and walkers took part in the Standerton parkrun event 367 at River Park.
A total of 101 parkrunners walked, jogged and ran the 5km Standerton parkrun route at River Park during event 367 on August 29.
Pieter Jansen van Vuuren crossed the finish line first in the men’s category in a time of 20:55. First-time participant Anesu Zvomuya claimed second place in 23:24, followed by Ayanda Dlamini in 24:57.
Petra van der Linde was the first woman to finish in 26:40. Daleney Grobbelaar secured second place in 26:53, while Marié van Zyl finished third in 28:56.

The organisers welcomed six first-time participants: Anesu Zvomuya, Rethabile Tholo, Bathabile Tholo, Victorious Tholo, Jeanette Roberts and Karin Hatting.
Congratulations also went to the parkrunners who achieved personal best times: Tumelo Nkomo (25:02), Marié van Zyl (28:56), Thabiso Buthelezi (30:16), Johan de Wet (31:03), Mandla Moloi (31:15), Jappie Mphali (37:06), Johan Badenhorst (43:55), Emily Lucia Madonsela (44:25), Linda Dhlamini (46:39), Novaline van Loggerenberg (48:05), Mieke Prinsloo (48:53), Zané Jooste (49:13), Chanté Jooste (49:35), Jullian Jooste (49:37) and Mncedisi Johannes Mwelase (57:20).
Priscilla Ramdharee celebrated the milestone of completing her 150th parkrun, while Zander van der Linde completed his 25th event.

Event organisers thanked the volunteer team of Andrew Ainsworth, Charl van Wyk, Danie Human, Danie Laufs, Daniel Wright, Koos Grobler, Leandri van Wyk, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Nadine Hoop, Parth Jayram, Renette de Sousa, Séan Jansen van Rensburg and Susan Laufs for making the event possible.
Standerton parkrun takes place every Saturday at 08:00 at River Park on the corner of Handel and Buiten streets.
The weekly 5km event is free, with participants required to register once and bring their personal barcode to each event. Runners, walkers, joggers and their four-legged companions of all ages and fitness levels are welcome.
