Police say goodbye to Capt Swanepoel
Captain Swanepoel joined the police in 1994
EVANDER – The local police station said farewell to Capt Susan Swanepoel at their year-end function on Tuesday, 10 December.
Capt Swanepoel, who has served 19 years with the police, is now retiring.
She joined the police in Pretoria back in 1994 and was later transferred to the Secunda Police Station.
Capt Swanepoel joined the Evander Police in 2002.
“I am taking an early retirement at the end of the month due to health related issues, but am looking forward to being a housewife,” laughed Capt Swanepoel.
“I was retrenched in 1993 and was struggling to find work.
“That was when the police gave me the opportunity and I will always be thankful and be loyal to them.”
Capt Swanepoel went on thanking her colleagues and station personnel for all their support over the years.
Const Sibusiso Mbuli, the communications officer for Evander Police, said: “On behalf of all of us here at the station we would like to thank Capt Swanepoel for her hard work and dedication and wish her a happy retirement.”
