EVANDER – The first day of school for the pupils from Muzimuhle Primary School brought much joy and surprise when Evander Gold Mine handed over six classrooms to the school.
Pupils sang and danced in celebration of their new classrooms.
Mr Philip Mahlangu, circuit manager, said: “This is something worth appreciating.
“We are always impressed by the relationship that the government has with the private sector, the results are tangible.
“It could have taken many years for the Department of Education to build these classrooms because the needs are vast and the resources are limited.
“Evander Gold Mine, thank you very much for investing in our children’s future.
“Pupils, make sure you look after the school so that it can stand for generations to come.”
Mr Thabang Masuka, Evander Gold Mine acting general manager, said: “As a mine we are glad that our dream of building these classrooms has come true.
“Education is the key to success and we hope the classrooms will provide a conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning.”
The principal of the school, Ms Elizabeth Nsube, said she appreciates what Evander Gold Mine has done for the school, as well as Komalo Construction for doing a good job.
She also encouraged the parents to enroll their children at the school.
