Reservist Const Johannes kills Reservist Const Simphiwe Zungu.
eMBALENHLE – A local police reservist apparently shot and killed his girlfriend, also a police reservist, at the Tsalanang Residential Complex before shooting himself in the garage of his home in Extension 4 last Wednesday.
Capt Magonseni Nkosi, spokesman for the local police, said Reservist Const Johannes Pitso (58) used his private firearm to shoot Reservist Const Simphiwe Zungu (32).
The reason for the shooting is unknown.
Capt Nkosi said they were informed by neighbours at the complex about the incident after they had heard gun shots.
He said upon their arrival they found Reservist Const Zungu dead.
Reservist Const Pitso shot himself inside the garage of his house while police were trying to negotiate with him.
