BETHAL – Jim van Tonder School was launched as the first special school in Mpumalanga as a health promoting school.
The official certification and signing of the charter took place on Wednesday, 12 February.
The event was attended by School Health Bethal and eMbalenhle, students and doctors of the Bethal Hospital, Infectious Control, the HIV Aids coordinator as well as dieticians and nurses.
The Department of Health was represented by Ms GN Malaza.
As part of the on-stage programme, the pupils of the school presented a play as well as a performance, The Hygiene Buddies.
Gumboot dancers also participated.
