eMbalenhle crowd beats up man suspected of stealing.

eMBALENHLE – A man was severely beaten by residents in Extension 18 on Saturday afternoon, 15 March for stealing.

He was kicked and hit with a sjambok while he begged for mercy and promised to show them where he had sold the stolen items.

People told the Ridge Times and the Echo that the man apparently stole welding equipment from a local person.

They also said he has been breaking in at people’s homes and he was caught with stole chicken braai packs last week.

The police were called and the man was taken to the local clinic to be treated for his injuries.

Capt Magonseni Nkosi, spokesman for the local police, said nobody was arrested regarding the incident.
