Residents help police to arrest suspects.
Leandra police arrested three men for business robbery through the help of residents.
LEBOHANG – Residents helped police to arrest three men accused of business robbery recently.
According to the police, the men broke the main door and a wall of the business with a hammer.
Capt Isaac Magagula, Leandra Police Station Commander, said: “The shop owner heard the suspects and shouted for help.
“The men assaulted him, but he kept shouting until residents heard him.
“Residents tried to chase them, but could not catch of them.
They were however able to identify one of the men.
“We managed to arrest all three within 24 hours,” said Capt Magagula.
“We thank the residents for working together with the police and we encourage them to keep doing that because it will help us reduce the crime rate in our community.”
The men appeared in the Leandra Magistrate’s Court and the case was remanded for bail application.
