Capt Matlala condemns people who dump foetus
Resident discovers foetus that was dumped into a river in Afghanistan Section, Kinross.
KINROSS – A foetus was found dumped in a river between Thistle Grove and Afghanistan Section recently.
Capt Phil Matlala, station commander for the Kinross Police Station, said it was discovered by a resident who then called the police
He said illegal abortion is murder and it is very cruel for a person to dump a foetus.
“I do not understand why people do this because if it happens that they do not want a baby, there are many institutions they can take the baby to.
“There are a number of safe and legal methods to prevent pregnancies.”
He also said the police with soon launch a programme to educate residents about safe and legal methods of preventing such incidents.
A case of concealment of birth is being investigated.
