KINROSS – Rodney Jason (22) was attacked and brutally beaten by a gang of about 10 men at the Kinross Gholf Club on Saturday, 24 May.
Mr Jason was allegedly chatting to a friend at a party when he heard someone swearing at him.
Apparently after he asked the man if he was talking to him or not, a woman came to him and said she will wring his neck, then a gang of men beat him up.
“There is no way I can express the pain I felt.
“I thought it was my last day on earth.
“These men beat me viciously and even threatened to kill me.”
One of Mr Jason’s friends called his family and told them of the incident. The family came to see what is happening.
His mother said when she arrived on the scene, the men were swearing and beating her son.
“I came to ask why are they beating him, assuming that when they see an old women, they will stop, but they did not.
“Instead they also assaulted me and swore at me.
“My daughter and her fiance were also assaulted,” said Ms Jason.
Mr Jason was admitted to the Mediclinic Highveld and discharged on Tuesday, 27 May.
His jaw was operated on at the Kloof Hospital in Pretoria on Thursday, 29 May.
Ms Jason is upset about the lack of help from the police.
“They just looked at us and said we should go home and come back to them on Monday.
“If the police do not protect us, who will?”
