Police say they need God’s intervention
Police and pastors are planning to have a prayer meeting for crime in eMzinoni.
eMZINONI – The police have joined forces with local spiritual and religious leaders in the fight against crime.
They had several plenary meetings to discuss strategies on how they can work together to reduce crime in the area.
Const Cynthia Mtsweni, spokesman for the police, said the police realised the high escalation of crime in the area and noticed that they need divine intervention and spiritual guidance to fight crime.
“Among the other reasons that we partner with spiritual leaders, is the increase in the number of people accused of being possessed by demons.
“Various schools have reported that learning and teaching get disturbed by pupils who are apparently attacked by Satan.”
She also said they will have a prayer meeting where various churches will gather to pray on Wednesday,9 July at the Raymond Mavuso Hall.
“This meeting is aimed at praying for unity between residents and the police and to educate the community about crime-related issues and how they can help the police.
“I encourage residents to come in numbers.”
