SECUNDA – The first phase of a R9 million, two-month refurbishment project is underway at Peermont’s Graceland Hotel Casino and Country Club.
Graceland is the golfer’s dream and is the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life in Johannesburg.
An initial R5.5 million worth of renovations will see two floors of the 4-star Walmont hotel refurbished as well as areas of the Graceland Arena and Privé-style Manhattan lounge upgraded to improve guest experiences.
The new look and feel for the bedrooms in the 4-star Walmont hotel remain in line with the existing decor and architecture to enhance the overall aesthetics of the building.
Locally manufactured curtains and striped accent wallpaper add dramatic punches of grey, purple and red against the clean cream canvas for a modern new look.
The furniture in the room, classically detailed in cherry wood has been retained to enrich the eclectic mix of classical and contemporary styling along with new furnishings and décor.
The carpet, commissioned and specifically designed for the upgrade, brings in a floral idiom, softening the interior whilst creating a modern and dramatic look with a gorgeous palette in red, purple and grey to ground the entire design beautifully.
The majority of the refurbishments taking place until September will focus on Graceland Hotel refurbishments while other upgrades include the renovation of the Privé-style Manhattan lounge bathrooms, installation of plush new carpets in the relaxing Augusta Club Lounge and luxurious new curtains for the 1000-seater multipurpose Graceland Arena.
The refurbishment project will make sure that Graceland remains one of Mpumalanga’s key entertainment, casino and golfing resorts.
