Izigi ready to plough back
Actors will showcase their talent at the Girl Power Ministry Conference in Kinross.
eMBALENHLE – Izigi Performing Arts group is ready to plough back and contribute to the capacity building of local artists.
The members will showcase their talent on 30 August at the Kinross Sasol Club during the Girl Power Ministry two-day conference next weekend.
This is over and above their annual arts and culture contribution to the Sasol Mining 67 Minutes for Madiba initiative.
The members had a successful Cathsseta edutainment tour of the Grahamstown Arts Festival recently.
The Girl Power Ministry empowers girls of all ages with prayer tools.
This ministry is based on the prayer life of Ms Bongi Ndimande and her daughter, Ms Wandile Ndlangamandla from Secunda.
It promotes the virtues of a Christ-based relationship between mothers and daughters from all walks of life and churches.
Mr Sindiso Nkosi, the artistic director of Izigi, said: “As a man I am witness that a home without a mother is just bricks and mortar and it tends to be rather cold.
“Remember, a man can plant the seed but he cannot make it grow.
“Just as we are codependent in nature, we are also codependent in raising our children according to sound Christian moral values.”
Mr Nkosi added: “As we celebrate Women’s Month, it is imperative to highlight the profound role played by the daughters, sisters and mothers of our nation the best way we know how, namely through dramatic arts.
“We are honoured to be selected as the drama group of choice by the Ministry and we will contribute our acting and singing talents in honour of the source of our gifts, the Omnipotent Lord Jehovah.”
