Hennie greets Secunda

Herman takes over at Graceland.

SECUNDA – Mr Hennie Steenkamp is leaving Graceland Casino after six years.

He filled the role as the general manager and believes it is time for a new challenge.

He leaves Graceland in a good financial state as this resort is among the top 10 in South Africa.

Mr Steenkamp will stay in the Peermont group and will move to Richards Bay while the current general manager at Umfolozi Resort outside Richards Bay, Mr Herman Brits, will come to Graceland.

“He had the same need that I had, namely to take on a new challenge,” said Mr Steenkamp.

Mr Brits worked at Umfolozi Resort for five years.

Mr Steenkamp thanked his guests for their support and contributions towards Graceland’s success.

His career in this industry began in 1998 when he began working at Emperor’s Palace as the human resources manager.

He got promoted in 2006 to manager and helped to open a casino in Bethlehem.

“I look forward to the new challenge in Richards Bay,” said Mr Steenkamp.

Mr Brits will begin at Graceland Casino on 1 September.
