eMBALENHLE – The Mpumalanga Department Education is investigating the circumstances that led to the death of Mr Philane Dlamini (34) and Mthandeni Tsotetsi (17) after they were allegedly assaulted by pupils at the Kusasalethu Comprehensive School on 27 August.

Mr Gerald Sambo, spokesman, said they have deployed officials from the inclusive education to assess the pupils at the school and to provide trauma counselling.

The men allegedly grabbed a woman’s bag at a sports field and ran to abandoned buildings on the school premises.

They tried to hide in a ceiling, but the pupils found them and assaulted them.

The police and an ambulance were called to the scene and the two men were taken to Evander Hospital where they later died.

Capt Magonseni Nkosi, spokesman for the local police, said they are investigating two murders and robbery, but no one has been arrested yet.
