SECUNDA – The movie The Giver will be showing at Ster Kinekor in the Secunda Mall over the weekend.
It is a 2014 American social science fiction film directed by Phillip Noyce and written by Michael Mitnick and Robert B. Weide based on the 1993 novel of same name by Lois Lowry.
Some of the actors in the movie are Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep, Brenton Thwaites, Alexander Skarsgård, Odeya Rush, Katie Holmes and Taylor Swift.
The setting is a society in the year 2048.
After a big war, the community had decided to get rid of colours, therefore different races and feelings.
All the citizens have had the memories from before erased from their minds thus as the receiver of memory, Jonas must receive the only memories of before from the past receiver, The Giver.
