Zero tolerance for crime in eMzinoni
eMzinoni Police warn people to not leave their homes unattended during the festive season.

eMZINONI – Local police say the source of most crime is Nyoape which is prevalent in the area.
They say crimes such as house breaking, theft, robberies and contact crimes have increased because of this drug.
Const Cynthia Mthweni, spokesman for eMzinoni Police, said these types of crime usually increase during the festive season.
She said the police and community policing forum had meetings with residents to discuss strategies on how crime can be reduced.
“During our meetings we tried to strengthen our relation with residents and to educate them about crime preventative measures.
“For example, in reducing house breakings we all must enhance security measures in our homes.
“When going away, do not leave your homes unattended and report any suspicious persons and cars in the neighbourhood.”
“Police advised residents to buy whistles and to blow them in case of crime.
“We urge residents to not take the law in their own hands by beating and assaulting the suspect, but to apprehend him and call the police.
“We believe we will reduce crime to zero this festive season.”
