Advocate murdered on his farm
Mr Tom Sawyer (62) was found murdered in his farm house in the Val area on the morning of 3 November.
Mr Tom Sawyer (62) was found murdered in his house on his farm, Oudehoutdraai, in the Val area on the morning of 3 November.
His farm workers alerted his neighbour, Mr Wynand Ambrosius, that something was not right early on 3 November.
“I contacted the Val Police, but was then told to contact the Greylingstad Police, which I did.
“I tried to contact Mr Sawyer, but he did not answer his phone.
“The signal in the area is weak, but he usually replies when he sees my missed call on his way to work. “I then drove to his house and arrived at the same time as the police did.
“We noticed that the main bedroom window had been smashed and after further investigation found him on the floor of his bedroom, draped in curtains,” Mr Ambrosius said.
