CPF members help community

CPF members cleans up under bridge where a homeless guy lived.

BETHAL – Members from the Community Policing Forum (CPF) Sector two cleaned up under the Hendrina bridge where illegal dumping and vagrants are a growing concern.

Other problem areas included people occupying derelict buildings and empty houses, open veld between the industrial and residential areas used as corridors for criminals, as well as the two bridges used as observation points and for the suspected dealing in drugs.

The lack of adequate traffic signs at the Hendrina road entrance leads to vehicles getting lost, trucks entering the residential area and causing damage to trees and pavements as well as accidents.

Members were encouraged to submit ideas for fund raising and future community projects.

Sector two comprises one quarter of Bethal.
