Social drug makes waves in Standerton

More people are getting hooked on green beans.

There is a growing number of people who are abusing Rohypnol, tablets prescribed as short-term treatment for insomnia.

It is also used as a pre-medication in surgical procedures causing sedation, muscle relaxation and reducing anxiety.

According to a reliable source many high school pupils in the Indian and Coloured community in Standerton abuse this drug.

The drug also known as “green beans” is commonly abused by heroin and cocaine users.

The source also said it is sold for R25 per tablet on the black market or R250 for a card with 10 tablets.
