Local musicians conquer Standerton one performance at a time

Local musicians determined to take their music all over the country.

Two residents use music, defined as a universal language that everybody understands, to bring people together.

Born and bred in Standerton, 23-year-old Mthokozisi Madonsela, also known as DDoubleesa, is passionate about hip-hop music.

He has five tracks to his name and has just shot a music video.

“The music video of my single, ‘Bossing up’, will be released on 31 January,” DDoubleesa said.

He is a qualified electrical engineer and also a member of a cooperation that focuses on farming, called Black Roses.

He has been performing in local shows and his music has been played on Middelburg radio.

He has collaborated with a fellow artist, Kwaitoprince, on a song titled “Summer”.

Mshengu Tshabalala, known as Kwaitoprince, was also born and bred in town and holds a diploma in Business Management.

He is a upcoming kwaito musician, who loves to make people dance.

“People can easily relate to my music because I sing about what we are going through,” Kwaitoprince said.

He will release another single in September.

These musicians are also members of Colourpopulation Network, a company that focuses on photography and videos.

They have been well received in town and are determined to increase their fan-base by performing in other provinces, towns and cities.
