Freebie becomes a clean-up operation
Residents in Paarl Street are angered by students littering.
Residents in Paarl Street are angered that what was a freebie became a clean-up operation for others.
According to them students of the Gert Sibande College were given free chicken lunches on 13 February.
The boxes and cool drink cans were allegedly then simply dropped in the street when the students were finished with them.
“We pay a monthly fee for our rubbish, which we put in bags, to be collected, but other people can simply leave their trash in the street,” an angry resident said.
“Unfortunately I can not comment for I am unaware of the issue,” Mr Michael Radzilani, spokesman of the Gert Sibande College, said.
The Standerton Advertiser did give the college ample time to respond.
