Bikers, Mini Cooper drivers and Sasol handed out blankets to the needy during Sasol’s annual Winter Warmer Drive on Saturday, 4 July.
They drove from the Secunda Mall to Trichardtsfontein and from Trichardt to Ext 23 in eMzinoni.
Sasol worked with the Highveld Bikers Forum and the Mpumalanga Mini Cooper Miniacs during the campaign.
Sasol aimed at keeping the residents warm this winter and donated more than 100 blankets.
Young and old people supported the drive.
Sasol employees who handed out blankets at the Secunda Mall said: “The facial expressions of those who received blankets, were priceless!”
Past beneficiaries of Sasol’s drive included senior citizens, orphans and other vulnerable children.
“This year, Sasol is targeting indigent people.”
According to Mr Marinus Sieberhagen, Senior Vice President Secunda Chemicals Operations, Sasol is proud to partner with the two organisations, because they share the same passion for making a difference in the community.
“We look forward to the continuation of this partnership as we believe that collaboration yields greater achievement and that indeed the sum of the whole is greater than the parts,” he said.
Sasol will also be working with the Department of Education to distribute winter clothes and non-perishable food items to the neediest schools in the area.
