Two Bethal drug suspects denied bail

BETHAL – The three Nigerian men who were arrested in Blesbok Street on 9 July for dealing in and manufacturing drugs, appeared in the Bethal Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 17 July.
One got out on bail of R10 000.
The previous case was postponed so that the court could verify their status and to obtain either their passports or IDs.
According to the court, the men all have passports and IDs.
The investigative officer said in court it was up to the court to allow or deny bail.
He said they had no trouble with the suspects who cooperated on the day of their arrest.
The other two men remain in custody and the case was postponed to this Wednesday.
Members of the Crime Intelligence Unit, Organised Crime, the Secunda Bike Squad and the police busted a house that appeared to be a drug lab.
They confiscated Cat tablets, crystal meth and items used to manufacture drugs.
“All the drugs were worth a million rand,” they said.
Security forces said they received a tip off that they should search the house in Blesbok Street.
Members from the community and the DA attended the court case to show they do not stand for drugs.
Danie Robberts (17), a resident, also attended to show that the youth of Bethal is not supporting drugs.
“We want a drug-free town and I want to let people know that drugs destroy lives,” he said.
