BETHAL – The local police recently arrested a thief after they received a tip-off from a truck driver.
W/O Doctor Mngomezulu said he was driving from Bethal to Standerton when a truck driver flashed lights at him to stop.
“He told me a man was in the back of the truck and was hiding from the police.”
He said the man was running away from something he had done illegally.
W/O Mngomezulu found the man and recognised him.
He once slept at the police station while he was waiting for transport.
On the same day, a man reported clothes that were stolen from his washing line.
“The man hiding in the truck was in possession of the stolen items,” said W/O Mngomezulu.
He was arrested.
