Celebrate Orange day

Like Orange?

SECUNDA – Families South Africa (FAMSA) Highveld Ridge is supporting and advocating Orange Day, an initiative to take a stand on ending Violence against Women and Girls.

Each month on the 25th, the public are urged to wear orange – a scarf, a ribbon, an entire outfit – as long as it is orange.

This is an initiative from the Department of Social Development in partnership with all civil society organisations, including NGO’s and NPO’s.

As victim empowerment and domestic violence are FAMSA’s main focus areas, this campaign enjoys monthly attention, and throughout the past six months FAMSA has conducted awareness campaigns and presentations on domestic violence, reaching an impressive 1981 people.

FAMSA is urging Secunda and surrounding areas to go ORANGE (not nuts) on the 25th of each month.
