Woman’s body found in sewer trench

Police do not at the moment suspect foul play.

eMBALENHLE – Residents were shocked and terrified when they discovered the body of a middle aged woman in a sewer trench in the Mandela Section next to Buyani Primary School on Saturday, 29 August.

The body was seen by residents who were passing by and alerted the police.

According to the police, they do not at the moment suspect foul play.

Capt Magonseni Nkosi, police spokesman, said: “We are still unsure of what had happened to her.

“We found her phone in the grass next to the trench.”

An inquest was opened and police are investigating.

Capt Nkosi urged people to avoid going out alone at night.
