eMBALENHLE – The body of a man with a gunshot wound to the head was found next to the Extension 18 community hall.
Residents informed the police that the body was in the field.
On their arrival, they called the paramedics and the man was certified dead on the scene.
Capt Magonseni Nkosi, police spokesman, said the police are concerned over the high increase in murder and contact crimes in the area.
He said regardless of the police’s efforts in reducing crimes in the area, such crimes are reported more often.
“We urge residents to work closely with the police and to report suspicious people and cars.
“People must also refrain from travelling alone at night, because such crimes usually happen after hours.”
Nobody has been arrested yet and the police are investigating the murder.
