Two men brutally killed in Mandela Section
Residents live in fear because of regular murders in eMbalenhle,
eMBALENHLE – A murder suspect was arrested on Monday, 28 September for allegedly stabbing two people to death on Friday, 25 September at the Mandela Section.
Four other victims are fighting for their lives at the Evander Hospital after they were also seriously wounded during the attack.
It is alleged the suspect stormed into the shack and began stabbing people.
The police and ambulance services were summoned, but angry residents threw stones at the ambulance for apparently arriving late on the scene.
Ambulance personnel escaped unharmed.
Capt Magonseni Nkosi, police spokesman, said the motive for the attack is not yet known and the police are investigating.
He said the suspect was arrested with the help of residents after he was found in another shack in Mandela Section.
Some residents associated the incident with gangsterism in the area, however Capt Nkosi disputed that.
“According to the information we have, this was not a gang attack.
“However, we believe the truth will come out.”
