UPDATE – Mother of 10-year-old child perishes in accident

Mother of deceased identifies body of her daughter on the scene.

BETHAL – Ms Nokulunga Mabuza (30) died in the early hours of this morning in an accident on the N17 highway just outside Bethal.

Ms Mabuza was the only occupant in the car and according to her mother, Ms Landiwe Cindi, her daughter was on her way home from Secunda.

The deceased worked at the Department of Labour in Secunda.

The car and the body were only discovered this morning.

It seems that Ms Mabuza lost control of her car and was flung from it while it was rolling.

The car came to a standstill about 50m from where her body was lying.

Ms Cindi was on the scene and said a family member noticed the car, identified it as belonging to Ms Mabuza and contacted her.

She identified the body of her daughter.

Ms Mabuza was the mother of a 10-year-old girl who was at home when the accident occurred.

* Another accident happened when a motorist on his way to Bethal noticed the car in the field and stopped.

Another car hit it at the right rear side.

No one was injured.
