Dhlamini sets the record straight
“One of the major reasons among others for the municipality’s debt to Eskom is the inefficient customer debt collection process with the municipality,” Mr Dhlamini said.
The installation of the new electricity meters has caused a lot of commotion in communities such as Kosmospark and Florapark with residents saying they spend more money on electricity now.
Some business owners have also raised concerns about the meters saying their electricity bill has gone up.
The Lekwa Municipality began installing these meters in businesses, then proceeded to Ward 8 that includes Kosmospark and Florapark.
The residents want the municipality to remove the newly installed meters and bring back the old ones.
They even said they will take to the streets if the municipality does not bring back the old meters.
