Infrastructure and maintenance of the water system remain problematic.
Mr Daan Smit of Bontebok Street in Kosmos Park enquired on 5 November why the water supply was cut off since the previous Monday.
Mr Linda Tshabalala, municipal manager of the Lekwa Municipality, said a pipe burst on 4 November and a pump gave in on 2 November.
According to him the municipality envisaged the problem with the pump would be resolved either on 5 or 6 November, while the 300mm pipe was repaired on 4 November.
The water supply was resolved about 9.30am on Thursday.
Mr Hillel Coetzer, branch chairman of AfriForum in Standerton, reported on 5 November that areas in Rooikoppen and Ext 6 and Ext 7 were without water since the beginning of the month as well.
A two hour investigation of the township made it clear that residents prepared for the worst because buckets and containers could be seen outside houses in anticipation of the water trucks.
The pipe at the Marais Street intersection towards Sakhile presumably can not handle the water pressure and a new pipe is allegedly to be installed.
The pipe continuously overflows and is covered with a cement structure.
