Crime must be eradicated
Positive actions by individuals will encourage others to do the same, because responsible residents report crime at all times.
BETHAL – Const Thomas Mogadime, communications officer of the local police station, said the police are working very hard to reduce crime in order for the community to feel safe at all times.
“We can however not win the battle without the community’s help, because crime is increasing daily.”
He said the community, including the youth, business owners, stakeholders and foreign nationals must join hands with the police in the fight against crime.
Const Mogadime urged residents to become part of the Community Policing Forums (CPFs), because they play a pivotal role in ensuring constant liaison among the communities, the police station commanders and officers.
“In some instances, criminals thrive in communities where their actions are tolerated and if we can work together, we can stamp out crime wherever it resides.”
Const Mogadime also said the police will continue to champion initiatives that will mobilise all societies to work together towards a better and a safer environment.
“Police officers strive towards servicing and protecting residents and will continue to uphold the rule of law and maintain stability in partnership with the communities that they serve.”
He further said that a better future for all lies within communities’ collective hands and that positive actions by individuals will encourage others to do the same, because responsible residents report crime at all times.
