Cedric is one step closer to become champion

SECUNDA – Cedric The Dominator Doyle faced Gareth Buirski on Saturday 11 December during the EFC 46 Championships that took place at Carnival City .

He does kickboxing, Brazillian Jui Jitsu, wrestling as well as Muay Thai.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a martial art and combat sport that teaches a smaller person how to defend himself against a larger adversary by using leverage and proper technique, while with Muay Thai, stand-up striking along with various clenching techniques are used.

Cedric does wrestling as part of his mixed martial arts training.

He needs to win a couple of fights and qualify for the championships so that he can face Demarte Pena, the current Extreme Fighting Champion.

Cedric still has to juggle between his personal life, family, his day job as well as his career as a professional fighter and said: “When I have finished with my professional career as a martial arts fighter, I hope to open a school and also teach others the unique techniques of mixed martial arts.

“I also want to help young fighters reach their dreams.”

Cedric and two other wrestlers, Nico van den Berg and Rudolph Vermeulen, are still practicing at Sasol Wrestling Club.

Nico van den Berg is practicing for the trials that are taking place in March in Cape Town.
