Breaking news – Four die in Secunda house explosion

Four, including two children, die.

SECUNDA – According to eyewitnesses and neighbours, a family of four and two dogs apparently died during an explosion in Lehman Street this afternoon.

Mr Chris de Bruto was first on the scene and said it looked as though two children and two adults died in the fire.

The cause of the explosions is still unknown. More information to follow soon.

The police asked the community to stay away from the scene for their own safety.

Update

According to Lt. Bettina Zondo from Secunda Police, the bodies of the four deceased have not yet been identified and no names can be released.

However it is believed that the deceased could be the Kruger family, Morné, his wife Ronel and their children Somoné en Reuben.

Forensics are still busy investigating the cause of the fire.

It can be confirmed that one adult and two children was removed from one room. Another adult was removed from another room which is suspected to be a male.

The male body was found in a seated position. Two dogs were still in the house and one was running infront of the gate in the yard.

Eye witnesses wanted to adopt the dog but it is police protocol that the Border Collie has to be checked by a Vetenarian before going to the SPCA and can then be adopted.
