Police question granddaughter after death of granny

Woman (67) dies in fire.

eMBALENHLE – A 67-year-old woman died in a shack fire while her granddaughter was allegedly cleaning the yard.

According to the neighbours, they tried to help the woman, but could not because the granddaughter apparently locked the gates.

Police were alerted and on their arrival they found the gates locked, but they forced their way into the yard.

They found the body of the woman that was still burning.

The relevant authorities were called.

The granddaughter (24) was taken to the police station for questioning.
