Breaking news – Steve Hofmeyr must fall
Ermelo show committee confirmed that "racist" Steve Hofmeyr will not be withdrawn from the programme.
The ANC Youth League (ANCYL) took to the streets of Ermelo today to show their disapproval of the planned performance by Steve Hofmeyr.
The memorandum that was handed over to the show committee, labelled Hofmeyr as a racist.
It stated that if Hofmeyr performs, the protestors “will have no choice but to escort Steve straight to Orania.”
“We are giving the board 24 hours to withdraw the racist Hofmeyr from the concert line up. The showground board must apologise to people of Ermelo for bringing a racist to our territory,” demanded the ANCYL.
According to Mr Carel Jacobsz of the Ermelo show committee, Â Hofmeyr has undertaken not to sing the old national anthem known as Die Stem.
“The committee will not withdraw Steve Hofmeyr from the programme,” Mr Jacobsz said to the Highvelder.
