Residents receive title deeds

The Mayor encouraged the beneficiaries to look after their properties.

Ms Lindi Masina, Executive Mayor of the Govan Mbeki Municipality, councillors and municipal officials handed over 345 title deeds to Lebohang residents and 185 title deeds to Kinross residents.

During her speech at the Difa Nkosi Community Hall on Thursday, 25 February, Ms Masina said a title deed is one of the most important documents one can ever possess.

“Today you are the lawful owners of your properties,” she said and encouraged the beneficiaries to look after their property.

Ms Masina said eMzinoni residents received their title deeds last year and a date for eMbalenhle residents to receive theirs will be announced.

Ms Esther Nkabinde, an RDP house beneficiary, was very pleased and thanked the late Tata Madiba who ensured that the elderly have a decent place to live in.

“What more can I ask for?

“I have a house, a flushing toilet, electricity and a grant.

“Thank you, Nelson Mandela, you have left a legacy that will never be forgotten,” said Ms Nkabinde while dancing with joy.
