Samwu members take a decision

The municipal employees, who seemed to be divided, took this decision during a meeting on 7 April.

The South African Municipal Workers Union (Samwu) members have decided to wait till the investigation of Ms Refilwe Mtsweni, the MEC of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta), is complete.

The municipal employees, who seemed to be divided, took this decision during a meeting on 7 April.

According to Mr Sibusiso Mdhluli, Samwu shop steward, they will continue working while waiting for Ms Mtsweni to report back to them.

They claimed that Mr Linda Tshabalala, Lekwa municipal manager, is corrupt and also called for his resignation.

Ms Mtsweni’s office confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.
