The Community Work Programme (CWP) workers from three different wards downed tools and took to the streets on 11 April.
They claimed they worked 12 days and Mr Absalon Maako, site manager, told them they will only be paid for eight days, and will be given leave for the extra days they worked.
The CWP is a government programme that provides an employment safety net by giving participants a minimum level of regular work opportunities, with a predictable number of working days provided monthly.
According to them they usually work eight days monthly and earn R600.
However, they alleged that Mr Maako told them they will work 12 days for two months and earn R970 monthly.
The workers confirmed they received the R970 in March and were expecting the same amount in April.
These employees refuse to take leave, saying they want the money promised to them.
