The Lekwa Municipality has acknowledged that there are several holes on the roads that need to be fixed, but said they do not have enough funds to do road repairs.
According to Ms Thobeka Mtshiselwa, Lekwa Municipality communications manager, there is no special provision for repairs.
She said these issues will be dealt with as soon as there are funds available.
This came after motorists raised concerns about the paving bricks that were removed in Nelson Mandela Drive when the municipality repaired a leaking pipe.
They dug up a hole on the road to access the pipe and repaired it, but left the paving bricks that were on the surface, next to the road.
They placed a yellow water and sanitation board in the area where the bricks were removed.
As a result motorists can not drive on the left hand side of the road.
It has been weeks since the municipality repaired the pipe, but the bricks are still on the side of the road.
