Mayor hands over house to two elderly

The Executive Mayor of the Govan Mbeki Municipality, Ms Lindi Masina, handed over two houses to Gogo Martha Skhosana from Ward 23 and Gogo Annah Mthethwa from Ward 27 today. The houses were built by private donors through the Mayoral Legacy Project.

eMZINONI – Two senior citizens were overwhelmed when they received RDP houses from the executive mayor of the Govan Mbeki Municipality.

Ms Lindi Masina handed the houses over on Wednesday, 13 April.

The houses were built by private donors through the Mayoral Legacy Project.

Accompanied by the mayoral committee, councillors and the donors, Ms Masina gave the first house to Ms Martha Skhosana living in Ward 23 and the second one to Ms Annah Mthethwa living in Ward 27.

Ms Masina thanked the donors for building the two houses and urged the elderly to look after the houses.

“Thank you for contributing to the development of our community.

“We hope other companies will take after you and invest in the development of the community.”

Ms Skhosana said: “We are very grateful to have a mayor who cares and loves her community.”
