LEBOHANG – Parents were up in arms on 24 April over two children who were hit on separate occasions by cars in the road next to the Difa Nkosi Community Hall.
This led to the Govan Mbeki Municipality erecting a speed hump that was completed on 27 April.
One girl was hit by a car on 23 April and the other child was hit on 24 April on the same spot.
Both suffered minor injuries.
The parents barricaded the road with stones to prevent motorists from using it until the municipality attends to their request for a speed hump.
One of the parents said they have engaged with the municipality to erect the speed hump for some time, because it is a busy road and motorists drive at high speeds.
“Why must we always protest to get things done?” he wanted to know.
