TRICHARDT – The Highveld Ridge SPCA has confiscated 12 dogs being used as part of an illegal hunt on a farm outside Trichardt.
It is suspected that these dogs were being used as part of a betting or gambling hunt, with the owner of the dog that makes the most impressive kill of the day, receiving a cash prize.
One suspect was arrested.
Five other underaged suspects were released into the custody of an adult and were warned by the SPCA and the police, pending further investigation.
