Man dies in accident between Secunda and Evander

Family members of both men were on the scene, but have now left.

It would appear that the two men were working on a trailer that they were using to move stuff.

Passers-by and good Samaritans are picking up the belongings scattered across the scene for safekeeping before the wrecks of the vehicles are removed.

Police and emergency services on the scene are directing the traffic and motorists are advised to slow down when they approach the area and adhere to the instructions of emergency crews.

SECUNDA – One person has died in a serious accident between Secunda and Evander this afternoon.

Two vehicles were involved.

The road is closed and the police advise motorists to avoid this route.

It is not clear when the accident had occurred and what had happened, but the police and emergency services are still on the scene.

Eyewitnesses said two men were standing next to a car and a trailer next to the road and that a car traveling in the same direction first hit the trailer, then the men and then the stationary car.

One man was taken to the Mediclinc Highveld.

The other one was pronounced dead on the scene.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the second vehicle fled the scene of the accident, along with his passenger.
